Positives:

Mass Elements
First Half

Negatives:

Second Half

Predictable narration
No strong plot

Performances:

Rajinikanth is on a rampage with his performance throughout the film. He has been energetic throughout and he is a treat to watch. Rajinikanth will thrill his fans in the role of a cop and they will be left delighted. Nayanthara has been decent in her assignment and looked good enough. Nivetha Thomas has a strong but meaty role and she delivered out her best. Suniel Shetty delivered a top-notch performance though his character had enough flaws. All the other actors have been decent.

Darbar is one film that relied completely on the characterization of Rajinikanth. The film has no strong plot and the screenplay, dialogues looked decent. The music appeals to Tamil audience but Anirudh does magic with his intriguing background score. The cinematography work is one of the major highlights of the film. The production values are grand. AR Murugadoss looks partially successful as Darbar is a feast for Superstar fans and others will be disappointed for sure.

Verdict:

Darbar is a full feast for Rajinikanth’s fans but for others, it is sure a disappointment. Rajinikanth’s performance and action episodes are the major highlights.
