Nandamuri Balakrishna is one actor who loves to slip into different genres and he is a man who experiments. The actor was in talks with creative director Krishna Vamsi for a social drama named Rythu. After several stages of discussions, the film was put on hold and there are no traces of the project now. Balakrishna during the promotions of his latest film Ruler revealed why the film was put on hold.

“I loved the script of Rythu and wanted to do it. We wanted an actor like Amitabh Bachchan on board. He rejected the film and we went on a hunt for the right actor to essay the role. We did not get the right actor after which we decided to shelve the project. It is a film that is related to farmer issues” said Balayya. He is glad that he got Ruler which discusses and focuses on the problems of farmers. Directed by KS Ravikumar, Ruler is ready for release on December 20th.
