Tamil Superstar Vijay established a decent market in Telugu too. The actor is teaming up for the third time with Atlee for a sports drama which is titled Bigil. The film is releasing as Whistle in Telugu. Nayanthara is the leading lady and AR Rahman composed the music. AGS Entertainments are the producers and here is the complete review of Whistle which is releasing today:

Story:

Whistle is the story of Micheal (Vijay) who resides in a colony. He falls in love with Angel (Nayanthara). The other side of Micheal is Bigil (Vijay), a proud and national football player. What makes him leave the sport forms the rest of the story and at the right needed time, Micheal joins Tamil Nadu women football team as a coach. His relation with his father Rayappan (Vijay) and other equations forms the rest of Whistle. Watch the film to know about the rest of the story.

Positives:

Vijay’s outstanding performance
Grand production values
AR Rahman’s music
Climax episodes
Emotional Drama

Negatives:

Predictable content
Dragged second half
Runtime

Performances:

Vijay steps out with an outstanding performance in three different shades as Rayappan, Micheal and Bigil. The actor carries the entire film on his shoulders and he exhibits various shades. Nayanthara has a meaty role and she shines in the assignment. Kathir and Yogi Babu have been decent in their roles and they performed well. Jackie Shroff played well and he tops the show with his roaring performance. Vivek does a decent job and all the other actors did well.

Whistle has nothing much exciting when it comes to the plot. The screenplay and dialogues are decent. The music and the background score supports the film well and some of the crucial episodes are well elevated. The cinematography work stands out and the production values have been lavish. Every frame looks rich and lavish. Atlee steps out with one more out and out commercial film.

Final Word:

Whistle is a decent film laced with all the needed commercial ingredients. Lengthy runtime is sure a barrier and some of the episodes look dragged. Vijay shines throughout the film.
