Mega Prince Varun Tej is testing his luck with a mass entertainer for the first time with Valmiki. Harish Shankar is the director and Pooja Hegde, Atharvaa Murali, Mrunalini Ravi, Dimple Hayathi essayed other pivotal roles. 14 Reels Plus bankrolled Valmiki and the film is hitting the screens today. Story:

Balamurali (Atharvaa) is an aspiring film director who plans a unique film. He decides to make a film on Gaddalakonda Ganesh (Varun Tej) aka Gani who is a ruthless don in the region. Gani hunts for a covert in his gang and through he comes to know about Balamurali. An unexpected incident leads to conflict and soon he realizes about the dream of Balamurali. The rest of the film is all about Gani’s life story and what happens next.

Performances:

Varun Tej nails it in style with his flawless and impeccable performance throughout the film. He shines as Gaddalakonda Ganesh and is the major highlight of the film. Pooja Hegde stuns in a meaty role and delivered her part well. Atharvaa has been decent and he looked fit in the assignment as a film director. Mrunalini Ravi and Dimple Hayathi have been good. Brahmaji managed to entertain the audience well. All the other actors delivered their best for the film.

Harish Shankar managed to get the theme of Jigarthandaa and made enough changes to suit the Telugu audience. The screenplay and dialogues are the major highlights of the film. The cinematography work has been outstanding and Mickey J Meyer’s background score, songs are the other highlights of the film. The production values have been good and Harish Shankar shines with Valmiki / Gaddalakonda Ganesh.

Verdict:

Valmiki / Gaddalakonda Ganesh is a decent attempt and Varun Tej shines loud in this predictable mass entertainer.
