Tamil top actor Karthi has been picking up raw and intense subjects along with regular commercial flicks. His next offering Khaidi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is hitting the screens today. Khaidi is said to be an intense action thriller and Narain played another crucial role. SR Prabhu’s Dream Warrior Films bankrolled the film and KK Radha Mohan is releasing the Telugu version. Story:
Khaidi is the narrative of Dilli (Karthi) who faces jail term and resides in the Central prison. Right before his release, he gets a request from a cop and an emotional Dilli promises to help him. He shifts an unconscious cop to the hospital and the rest of Khaidi is all about the real story behind the incident. Karthi tops the show and he is shockingly good and loud in the role. The actor steps out with a stunning makeover and his performance is the major highlight of Khaidi. Narain has a full-length role assigned and he is the major emotional connect of the film. The small girl who played Karthi’s daughter did a decent job. All the other actors too did their roles with perfection.
The story of Khaidi has nothing new and it is predictable. It is the screenplay and the interlink between some of the episodes that make the film interesting. The dialogues are good and the background score elevates the film well and takes it to the new level. The cinematography work and the production values are the other strengths of Khaidi. Lokesh Kanagaraj did a decent job and his direction work will get accolades.
Verdict:
Khaidi is a decent attempt and it will appeal for all those who are in the hunt for different innovative films. Karthi roars loud with his flawless performance.
